Fossils and archaeology mod revival mod download 1.12

However, to tie in with Minecraft and mod lore, each culture will have several whimsical details to connect it to the "history" of your Minecraft world. An example of paintings inspired by real historical paintings from the Tudor era. We're trying not to do that stuff for the arch' side. It's part of trying to make archeology more realistic rather than the sensationalized stuff in Indiana Jones, for example.

Yes, someday the Time-Machine will deliver players to the long-awaited dimension! This dimension, called The Past, will be part of an alternate universe where prehistoric creatures of all time periods spawn together naturally.

This may not be the most realistic thing, but the devs have stated that it is a necessary sacrifice in order to reduce lag. To solve the inaccuracy problem, there will be biomes specific to individual time periods: Permian Desert, Triassic Scrubland, Paleogene Rainforest, among many others.

Approximately total prehistoric creatures including the ones already in game are planned to be in the mod by the time The Past is added. This will allow the dimension to have functioning ecosystems in each biome and across every time period. Most of these mobs will be implemented in updates prior to the addition of The Past, in order to lighten the load of work that will be necessary in creating the dimension. Of course, a huge number of plants and blocks will also be added, to fully flesh out these biomes.

A few things to note about The Past: There will not be a "Butterfly effect," in which modifying the dimension results in changes in the overworld, because as previously stated this dimension will be part of an alternate universe. Also, because the prehistoric creatures and archeology structures that will be added are based on things that existed in real life, there will be no dimension-specific mobs or structures.

Since the devs realize that these limitations may be frustrating to some fans who expected more out of the dimension, they have hinted at special details of the dimension that will make the Anu boss battle worthwhile! What won't be added to the mod?

There are several often-suggested features that the devs feel do not work with their goals for the mod and as such will not be added. Below are more features that the devs have publicly stated they will not add:.

Wiki Content. Explore Wikis Community Central. Register Don't have an account? Upcoming Content. History Talk 0. Bananogmius, Enchodus, Gyrodus, and Lepidotes, plus new corals. Toutinella, Anthraconaia, Ankyropteris, and Sphenophyllum. Categories WIP. Not sure how long it'll take we'll probably have to spend extra time bug testing because of all the ugly bugs that made into the last version but at least we're making more progress now.

Im becoming impatient Here's a little update on the 1. Up next is blocks. Staring at the wiki waiting for all the good things to happen while having a sinking suspicion they never will. Pls don't. I don't need someone to only see the first line and go around telling people it's out ;-;.

I would like not only that but I think a giga and maybe a megatherium or yutyrannus would be cool. Giga or Carcharadontasaurus is coming. Yutyrannus is an idea with some evidence that it is being considered.

Megatherium is just a cool thing. Probably not, although the devs may throw something in just to make people happy. I wouldn't bet on it, but it would be nice. Please tell me I didn't spell derisive wrong. I'm including the other spelling I can think of here. I have a sinking feeling the update is already done, but the more we whine they push back the release date even further I hope the devs wouldn't do that to us Likely not going to be finished this year, and maybe not even the year after that.

These guys have actual lives as professors and teachers unlike all of us, goddammit. Like, for example, 20 years.

Provide some kind of deadline that if the mod hasn't updated by then, it's definitely dead, or a deadline that's obviously going to be easy to hit. Let me guess: no deadline. At least not until we're all deader than disco and our world gets overrun by octopi.

What did I do? That was an honest question? I didn't mean it sarcastically; I just wanted to know if there was a maximum date. They're probably just getting annoyed because everyone keeps asking. They said they were working on it so we'll just have to wait.

Come on now. You really think we're cruel enough to not release something because we're annoyed? It is coming when, and I quote, 'When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. I can hardly wait to add this mod to my private 'mod pack' for 1. Please, please, please keep this beautiful and immersive mod going! I dont want to annoy or bother you since you have been working so hard to update the mod but how much time will take to update to 1.

Anon, you can talk about Fallen Kingdom in other threads. But a thread for mod updates is not the appropriate thread for off-topic discussion of that nature. Yeah, this thread was created a year ago. Unfortunately some people don't know about our new plans and then assume that this info is still up to date. This is a PORT. There's literally nothing to update the mod with until the entire thing is done. So how, do you presume, will the mod devs show you things?

If you want to see previews of new things, there's a thread for that. I'm not talking about previews, I'm talking about literally anything to keep everyone happy like fixing the aquatic creature glitches so we can continue playing and then doing the port.

Updates don't have to be big like this port for 1. So does this mean they aren't making a port for 1. The last announcment i read it said they were skipping 1. They are making a port to 1. Raptorofwar wrote:They are making a port to 1.

NO, we are not.
